You are playing Forrester & Bahkshi

Read the explanation of the auction carefully...

1NT = 10-13, may be off shape

x = EITHER penalties OR 5-card minor + 4 card major

xx = strong

after the redouble they explain they have only discussed continuations after an SOS or conventional redouble "no-one ever plays redouble as strong here". However, if the redoubler had passed, 2D would have shown 3-3 in the majors; with the redouble they aren't sure what it meant and it is possibly natural; however either way there is a strong inference that your RHO is short in clubs.

Pass over 2D = forcing, usually a penalty double

Double of 2D = prepared to defend 2Dx if opener has a penalty double ("take-out")

xx = SOS

Double of 2H = penalties

Do you double 2S?

LHO should have 5+ clubs and 4 spades.

How do I know that his pd has less then 4 Spades?

Okay maybe he simply plays system on, but this is just a guess, not a fact. If he really has 3/3 in the majors, why doesn´t he wait for the minor bid from his partner? So I guess he really has short clubs and all other suits. There is NO clue that his hearts are shorter then his spades.

I don´t like to be in a doubling rhythm and I am not certain that 2 X is our best spot. They bid in red, so I am a chicken and pass.

I chickened out and passed, which is +300 if you a heart (my choice) or the ace of diamonds - either 1 or 2 off on any other lead.

I was worried that they might be in a 4-4 fit, with a 4315 opposite a 4441, or similar, but I think that was a bit wimpy of me.

As dummy went down in 2S undoubled, he said "if this was doubled I was going to bid 2NT" 2NTx was going for 500, so you cost 200 points (not 500) by not doubling.

Dummy had a 3325 with solid clubs, declarer was indeed 4441.

Team-mates played in 2Hx after a 1NT overcall of a 1D opening, which was one off.
