helene_t
I like Multi-Landy here but that needs to be discussed, of course.
gwnn
Ripstra is said to be one of the best defenses vs gambling 3NT. 4m=somewhat natural (3+), promising 44+ in majors4M=natural

jdonn
It's common to play (by agreement) that 4♣ and 4♦ both show the majors. You can do one is better hearts one better spades, one is better hand than the other, bid your better minor, whatever. It's an uncommon enough situation that having any clear agreement at all is fine. The important thing is to have at least one bid available to show the majors. I'm perfectly happy playing 4♣ shows the majors and that's it.
pclayton
dbl = big balanced hand (16+)4C = take-out for majors, emphasis on hearts4D = take-out for majors, emphasis on spades4M = nat AKA Ripstra. Its what I play. Or let me say, its what I play every two years when this comes up and we discuss the situation afterward. :)
gwnn
http://homepage.mac.com/bridgeguys/Conventions/Ripsta.html In Ripstra you bid your better minor. The convention which Whereagles described resembles Unusual vs. Unusual, if anything, I guess. (the version vs. 2NT opener for minors)
skjaeran
I'm perfectly happy playing 4♣ shows the majors and that's it. So am I. (Of course double shows a big hand.)
