ArcLight
I think 2Nt was fine, pard has his bid and shape and stoppers. Many people play ssystem on, so if you bid 3♦ and pard 3♥ you can decide what to do.Keep in mind pard doesnt have to have many hearts. In this case you have a great fit. It wont always be so. I'm not sure how you would end up in game, unless you bid it. I may be tim it, but I'd have left pard in 3♥
pbleighton
I agree with ArcLight. Peter
jtfanclub
Assuming that we don't play Texas, and that it's IMPs, I'd blast to 4 hearts. I don't have to make it for it to be a good board.
gwnn
6-4 needs to be in game, even though usually I get these decisions wrong.
Fluffy
I would sing off in 3♥ if I can.
Codo
I had witten 170 ( or even 200?) for 3 ♥ + 1 (or 2) in my score sheet. These hands fit well, I underbid, next board. I cannot find out whether or not pds hand fits so good.
P_Marlowe
Hi all ! Auctions : OPP PART OPP ME2♠ 2NT P ? Should we keep system ON ( Stayman, Jacoby etc ) Thank you for your interest in my problems ( they are plenty ) ;) #1 a bit heavy for my liking, but I would say 2NT is mainstream#2 play the same method you play after an over call of 1NT, ... and most people would assume system on, without discussion, i.e. yes Stayman, and Transfer are still on => Transfer to hearts intending to pass 3H, and partner should not super accept, so you will play 3H This is a bit different to the case, that partner opens 2NT, because after a 2NT opener, opener should super accept with only 3 card support and lots of controls Your partners hand is nice, but 4H maybe to high in case you are broke, and there opponents out there, who know how to use the red card. With kind regardsMarlowe
lowerline
Hi all ! Auctions : OPP PART OPP ME2♠ 2NT P ? Should we keep system ON ( Stayman, Jacoby etc ) Thank you for your interest in my problems ( they are plenty ) ;) 1. Yes. 2NT is fine.2. I would bid 4♥ in IMPs, 3♥ in MPs3. I have the agreement: system on if there is no major bid (or known) yet. In this case, I play 3m as natural, 3♥ as a 4crd suit GF and 3♠ as 5crd ♥ suit GF. Unfortunately, this means I can't play in 3♥... Compare this with (2♥) - 2NT - (p) - ?. Now 3♥ shows 5crd ♠ suit and I can pass partner's acceptance. Not perfect, but better than system on IMHO. skjaeran
Your partners hand was a maximum for a 2NT overcall in my mehtods (15-18).I play system on here, so would bid 3♦ with your hand.Your hand has such playing strenght that I'd raise partner to game, if he just accepted the transfer. (Btw he need something extraordinary to do anything but accept the transfer.)
