mike777
2d 1d can be real junk in my reg partnerships.Yes this is a max and the opp have been silent.Perhaps they will bid now?
Guest Jlall
Agree with 2D but freely admit I am well over a maximum for this bid, the opps are not going to bid, and we may miss a game. This looks like a hand for pessimism not optimism :)
jikl
2♦. Hoping partner can find another bid. Sean
skjaeran
2♦, wtp? Sometimes you've got a maximum.
Finch
Unless the same hand has come up twice in different places, I think your spades are 9xx and clubs 10xx. And it's matchpoints. I drove game on the hand, we played in the winning spot. But the circumstances are slightly artificial.
jdonn
2♦, wtp? Sometimes you've got a maximum. Well it's not exactly a wtp, 2♦ may well be the best solution given the alternatives but this is clearly more than a maximum.
Fluffy
I would bid 2NT
pclayton
2♦. I'm not that enamored with this hand. I have a max, but pard need some specific maximums to make 3N or 5m.

I got the idea of the hand from Challenge the Champs, I didn't remember the spots, form of scoring and vulnerabilities. Interesting that you drove to game while the majority here makes a simple 2D call. Indeed, there is no attractive invitational bid so you either have to go high or low. Well it's not exactly a wtp, 2♦ may well be the best solution given the alternatives but this is clearly more than a maximum. That might be true. But to me this is still an automatic 2♦. There's no alternative bid IMO, so I'd bid 2♦ without a second thought.
Codo
I share the view that this is no wtp 2 ♦ even if most my heros do. In my regular partnerships, I normally play weak jumps, so I can rebid 2 ♥ here to show 5+ hearts and 8-11 HCPs. I normally have 6 Hearts for this bid, but it is still a much better describtion then 2 ♦ .My second choice would be 2♠ if this is not GF. And just if all these bids are not avaiable, I would try 2♦ond
helene_t
In one partnership 2♣ suggests extras as we rebid (off-shape) 1NT with most minimums, so I would bid 2♠, which I would also do if 2♠ is not a GF. With more "normal" agreements, I would bid 2♦.
P_Marlowe
2S, FSF. That are the hands, why you play FSF as inv.+If you play FSF as GF, ... abstain :o, butmore serious, I think I would bid 2NT. With kind regardsMarlowe
the hog
Hmm. I am going to bid 3D. I am one D card short in support, but at least I have the A, and I do have 5 controls!
SoTired
I have an invitational hand. I would rather lie about distribution than strength. So I like 3D and 2N better than 2D or 2H.
whereagles
I'll make a slight overbid and game-force with 2♠. A more conservative bid would be 3♦, waiting for pard to bid 3♥ on 3 cards if he accepts this invite.
skjaeran
A more conservative bid would be 3♦, waiting for pard to bid 3♥ on 3 cards if he accepts this invite. With that hand partner would rebid 2♥ over my 2♦ and I'd raise to game.
