Free
You hold:[hv=d=w&v=n&s=sak74h732dt975cj7]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] The auction starts:2♦* - pass - 2♠* - passpass - Dbl* - pass - ? 2♦ shows a multi with a weak hand, 5+M and poor strength2♠ is P/CDbl shows a hand that would bid like the auction went 2♠-Dbl (so normal takeout - not balancing, probably 4♥, <4♠ and tollerance for unbid suits, opening values) What do you do? Fluffy
This is tough, I thik to me this is one of those pass at MP, pull at IMP. So 2NT
ulven
3D. No way I'm sitting for this, although it may be the winning decision of course.
Walddk
It's a very sound principle that take-out doubles must be taken out. I see no reason not to do that with this hand, so 3♦ it will be. Penalty passes are so rare that one is better off if one forgets about them. Roland

You don't need the same hand to penalice a serious preempt from a joke do you?
Guest Jlall
if playing leb 2N then 3D. If not playing leb 3D.
jdonn
I do think this is a more attractive pass than if the auction went 2♠ X P to me though, since I might not like partner's red suit lead in that case but in this case I am on lead to start something through dummy to partner's takeout double. Still I wouldn't pass, but it seems like that is a point worth considering.
han
I think this is a clear bid.
pclayton
2N or 3♦. The ♠'s are hitting shortness, so 2N if available.

jikl
I wonder what X of 2♦ meant before making a decision. Sean
Free
I wonder what X of 2♦ meant before making a decision. Sean Would show a takeout double opposite a 2♥ opening, like the auction would go 2♥-(Dbl)
