Echognome
This deal was played in a team's event and was a bit surreal. There were several decisions to make, so I'm going to post them in parts, since you may not agree with the choices I made (fine!). [hv=d=e&v=n&s=saxxhakqxdckjt9xx]133|100|Scoring: IMP(P) - 1♣ - (P) - 1♦(Dbl) - ?[/hv] So RHO passes and you open 1♣ (natural) with partner responding 1♦. Now RHO doubles and it's up to you to make the next decision.
jdonn
1♥. I can't even imagine what in the world else one could do besides overbidding with 2♥. Edit: per posts below that's true I'm used to redouble being support, and I just assumed it here but it wasn't stated.
pclayton
I'll dive in with the "overbid" of 2♥. Starry-eyed optimist that I am. Sometimes pard has club support and we can make 5♣.
jtfanclub
1♥. I can't even imagine what in the world else one could do besides overbidding with 2♥. You could talk me into XXing, though that isn't game. Assuming that it doesn't imply support, of course.
Guest Jlall
Disagree with jdonn, XX is possible if its not conventional. Anyways, without discussion I would just bid 1H. And I don't understand phil's argument. If partner has club support and we make 5C why can't we figure that out after bidding 1H?
han
I agree with Josh, this is a clear 1H. I would not redouble even if it was available as penalty.
benlessard
If you don`t play support XX then XX is probalbly better but if ur not sure 1h is best.
vang
agree with 1H. don't like to jump with a flexible hand. i play redouble here as strong (semi)balanced.
Fluffy
I play redouble as general strong and that's my bid. I play 1♥ as cuebid showing stopper, problem is that might imply better diamonds for partner
