jdgalt
I've read through the tutorials and started playing, but some things I think I ought to be able to do just don't work. 1. After logging on and playing the first hand, I'm shown a recap, but as far as I can tell, the only way to get out of it and play the next hand is to hit the Windows "close window" button in the upper right of the recap. Once I do this, recaps are never shown for any further hands. I find this "feature" worse than useless, and would like to stop it from appearing, but instead I would like to have the recaps saved (preferably as text) to a file that my partner and I can review later when not logged in to BBO. How? 2. When a hand is completed, it disappears instantly, so I have no chance to view the result. How do I make the result stay up until I choose to dismiss it? If the software doesn't provide this ability then it desperately needs adding. 3. Similarly, I ought to be allowed to keep the trick just completed on-screen until I choose to dismiss it (or until I play to the next trick). This is in the laws of bridge. 4. Please explain exactly how to use the alert feature. The button never exists on-screen either when my partner has just bid or when I have just bid, so all the instructions I've seen for using it are impossible to do. 5. Please explain what the four percentages in the upper left of the screen mean. Example: NS 64% (80%) EW 35% (20%)I'm playing matchpoints if it makes any difference. Thanks much! skjaeran
1. I don't know what you're referring to here. 2. You can look over and replay a hand my clicking the "Movie" button on the bottom of the screen. There you can recap the bidding and play at other tables as well. 3. If you move your cursor over the quitted tricks you can see the play to the last trick until that's quitted too. 4. Before bidding you can click on "Alert" and write the explanation PRIOR to making the bid. Or after making the bid you can click on your own bid and type in the explanation. During bidding you can click on an opponents bid to ask for an explanation/alert as well. 5. 64% is the updated NS score in the session, 80% is the NS-score on the last board. Same for EW (35 and 20). As you can see from the total, these are rounded (the scores doesn't add up to 100%).
hotShot
1. What you call recap, is the movie window. You can move it to get back to the playing area, or you can close it and open it again using the "movie" button.
rona_
1. You can review your hands, either from here:Handsor, from the bbo login icon. Before you log in to bbo click on movie. All your hands will be saved there, if you have enabled that option from "edit my profile". You can also see your results and review the play of the hand from the movie button at the table (bottom right of screen), while you are dummy. 3. From options (the cog), enable "confirm end of trick". The trick will stay on your screen until you have clicked on it. If you are using bbotv and not the bbo client, then you can post your issues here:http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?showtopic=20580 and ignore everything I said:)
