Bidding Practice

Recommended Posts

This is an excellent tool already, but would it be possible to make it so that one user can sit in both chairs and bid with himself? This would be excellent when you want to test some system stuff for yourself or whatever, because you can shape the hands according to your need.

The only alternative now, is to open a learning table, and redeal until the right hand appears.

F.ex imagine that you are learning a new system, and you want to practice the strong 1 opening, but your partner ain't online. Then I would be very nice for you to have the alternative to bid with yourself.

Or is it only me that would like to have this option?

you can have the hands prepared in a .LIN file, load it in the movie and then send, to have them at a teaching table.

Can you load .lin files to a partnership bidding table? The hand constraints available on BBO are a bit limiting -- it would be nice to be able to generate hands with a program such as DEALER and use those for partnership bidding on BBO.

Yes I do this for almost all of my practice sessions.

I've looked in the "table options" but don't see how to load hands. Do you use a teaching table for your bidding practice? Or, is there a way to load hands to a bidding practice table? How?

Thanks,

Tim

click on movie, and then there you can load .lin files

OK, I see how you can send one deal at a time, but it appears that you can also see the deal as you send it. Is there a way to batch send?

You can load a lin file to the movie window. Unfortunately you can see the hands you load. However in practice this is not a problem. I seem to be able to manage to click on movie, click on the next deal and click send without taking in anything about the hand. It may be not ideal but it is workable.

Actually, I was going to post exactly the same question but it seems Kristoffer is quicklier :D So I second that (or rather fifth that now). I can add a helping hand, too. At least provisionally, I think it would be more than easy to add a 'DEAL' button to Partnership Bidding Desk. It is possible to bid on your own already, if you ask a friend to sit and vacate the seat again. Hence, you can just change seats after having bid. I believe it is a bug but a very useful one. However, you can't have the cards dealt unless someone helps you. Maybe it would be the final version, too, perhaps there isn't such a big amount of people wanting to have this very tool available. I wonder if this provisional solution couldn't be the part of next BBO version? Personally, I'd be very glad.
