6-6

I don't agree with Michaels,, for two reasons:

1) I like to play it either weak or very strong. This hand is intermediate (though potentially excellent). This is a style issue, it may not apply to you.

2) Pd won't think 6-6.

I would bid 1S, then rebid 3D, then rebid spades if I get the opportunity.

Agree.

As for the current auction, I'd rebid 2.

I don't have a problem with it, as long as you call this the strong version.

I bid 4 diamonds. If partner passes again, I'll check his pulse. I don't care if I make it or not, I'm not stopping below game.

I bid 4s

if p doesn't like spades they can ask for the minor.

this way I am sure we are not stopping below game.

This is a potentially explosive situation, so you need to put partner in the picture by revealing your minor at some level. However, a diamond bid by you will suggest 5-6. So I believe that the best tactic is to underbid with 3 and follow that with 4. I don't believe that the opps will be able to pass this one out at 3.

Other possibilities include repeating the cue (3), which ought to imply 6-6, and jumping to 3, which ought to show 6-5m. But 4 by responder could prevent your showing which minor you hold below the 5 level.

I don't like the thought of not bidding michaels with this. It makes it easy for me to bid 4S next over 4H. If I bid 1S then I have to bid 4S over 4H and risk being in a silly contract as I've never shown my second suit.

I would bid 4D now.

(p)-p-(1)-2

(DBL)-P-(p)-?

You play with a pickup partner on BBO.

Do you agree with 2 michaels?

What do you bid now?

I rail against Michaels bid more than anyone here on the forums.

This is a clear strong version for me so 2H michaels no problem yet.

4D rebid now, no problem yet.

Pard knows we are vul at IMPs and sees what I bid.

As usual willing to give up on slam after a one level bid in first seat by opp.

All pass[/hv]

Making 3+2... For the answers it seems like a should bid more if having distribution. (I didn't really expect that 3 would be passed out. I wanted to show my minor in case bidding would get competitive and planned to rebid 3/4).

On the layout you have given us, it appears that 11 tricks in requires that RHO hold 3 and the doubleton K, while 10 tricks in requires trapping the J. Provided that the defense starts , which seems very likely.

What am I missing?

I don't like 4, IMHO it shows longer or much better than spades.

Why? It's a very convenient and descriptive way of showing your minor - pd can choose a game or even pass if he really abhors his misfitting hand.
