A plug for 3.5.5 for Beginners and novices

I have been playing around with the new beta version of the BBO gaming software (version 3.5.5). It will be a huge hit with beginners and novices I think. This is the first time I examined "learn to play bridge" software that Fred created. The volume II stuff that can be accessed in version 3.5.5 should be a MUST READ for beginners and novices alike. There you will find 18 hands on playing defense in general, 6 example hands on signalling on defense, 10 example hands on playing common suit combinations, 10 example hands on suit management, as well as instructions on bidding and common conventions. Wow, it is an amazing learning tool. (Yes, I know that Hallway has told us this before, but I didn't realize just how good an educational tool this was until I looked at it myself).

 

And if that wasn't enough, Fred has included 6 hands at each of the level of difficulty in the Bridge Master room for free. You can go work those, if you find the ones at level one to easy (don't count on it), you can try the ones at level two and three. And when you find the level where you are REALLY learing something from the hands, there are groups of more hands at that level you can purchase on line if you want too.

 

Don't miss out on this GREAT learning material, and the majority of it totally free (but be warned, using bridge master is addicting, you may find that you will be irresistable drawn to buying the extra hands at some level, I am buying level 4 and 5 hands).

I think bm2k is really great. It offers something books can't...real interactive practical training. Its probably very important later on to develop the skill to picture cards without playing them out, but for beginning learners of bridge, to "see" and try the cards is much more important.

I endorse everything Ben has said . There are a number of posts already in the forums where I have urged members to avail themselves of this learning tool. If you didn't believe me then believe Ben.
