mr1303 Posted January 22, 2004 Report Share Posted January 22, 2004 My pet hate about directing tournaments is that no-one EVER seems to be happy. Directing a tournament is hard work, and requires the patience of a saint, and no-one seems to understand that. For example, yesterday I had several people message me several times about how he had been unfairly booted from the tournament. I told him that I hadn't excluded anyone (on this particular occasion) for rude behaviour, and so if I had removed him, it was due to poor connection, as generally if anyone asks me for a sub, I do substitute. He then proceded to tell me that this reason wasn't good enough, and wanted another! I ignored him from this point on. The next guy was also complaining about how he'd been booted and hadn't had any connection difficulties. This one had been excluded from the tournament because it was a survivor, and he'd been knocked out. Not to mention all the whinging about adjustments. spwdo Posted January 22, 2004 Report Share Posted January 22, 2004 hi, well i think you have always people who will be complaing, i had a guy yesterday who was asilver robbon or something like that winner, i never knew somebody can be that rude, i send some of the messsages to abbuse, he then came back later after i booted him to even take up the rudiness with another nick, told me he had 1600acbl points and all, i blacklisted him as well, but wat i really want to say is that it means nothing anymore(the problems) when even one player gives me a compliment or a thanks, thats makes up for all the work and bad things that happen, i like to think as it this way, players can be only one time rude and give me a second of stress(blacklist) while others thank you and give me warm feeling time and time again, about the discarded pairs(survivor) i can say that i have less people complaining about that once u make regular adds about it, even as lots probaly only read 1/10 of adds, sooner or later they will, about the adjustments , i tend to be claer on that with players , no tablenumber=no adjust, once u get the tablenumber and u talk to those players while looking at the movie(rare that u cant see the outcome of it) u get less whining about that to, i try to be strict and fair, had today a players that said beky(yellow) that he wanted to be replaced and it al was bull.... while the adjust was obvuis sohe got what he wished for, replaced like forever greetings Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
