kjpod
We worked with George over the weekend, and it seems like Sophos Antivirus is causing his problem. Disabling Sophos did indeed resolve my connection issues, including the long-standing ones with Chrome. Thank you both for your efforts! barmar
There was a Flash update a couple of days ago. Safari blocks Flash applications if you're not running the latest version. So make sure you've updated.

It's built into Chrome, so make sure you're running the latest version, 56.0.2924.87.

DaveRolyat
I've tried all kinds of things with no success. I get to the Flash login screen, click login, it goes away for a long time, then comes back and says "Connection Lost". Tried IE, Chrome, Opera. I can login to BBO to get hand records, but not through the Flash application.
barmar
Try clearing your browser cache. We made some changes this week, and your browser seems to be looking for the Flash files in the wrong place.
DaveRolyat
Try clearing your browser cache. We made some changes this week, and your browser seems to be looking for the Flash files in the wrong place. Thanks, but what do you mean, where is my browser actually looking and where should it be looking instead? I've cleared both the browser cache and the Flash plugin cache, still same problem. Is there an alternative way to access the page?

Does this happen when you visit www.bridgebase.com and click Login/Register ? We had some problems with people using strange links like bridgebaseonline or old desktop shortcuts, but even those should work now.
barmar
Thanks, but what do you mean, where is my browser actually looking and where should it be looking instead?Until this week, it would go to a URL with a specific version, like /client/client_v48v/bbo.php. You didn't see this because it was hidden in an iframe in side the /client/client.php page. We redesigned to get rid of the iframe, but to avoid exposing the version, it now redirects to a generic URL /client/current_version/bbo.php. current_version is a symbolic link on the server that we can change to point to the latest version. What I saw in our logs when you tried to use the client is that you were trying to load the Flash file from /BBOMainLine.swf, but it should be going to /client/current_client/BBOMainLine.swf. I don't know where you're getting that incorrect URL from.
barmar
Just to understand. You say you get the Flash login screen. You mean this one -- this is the Flash login page. or this one -- this is just an ordinary web page with a link to the above page. Because the error I see in the log shows you failing to load the file that contains the first one, so I don't see how you could be clicking on that login button. hawkwind
Have the same or a similar problem. Am using Firefox browser 56/Linux OS and am stuck at the same place - the Flash log-in screen not appearing - the screen stays blank. My last successful logon to play (using same method) was around 48 hours ago - but from dpkg.log file looks like Firefox was updated from 55 yesterday. Has that created the problem? Evidently have been able to log on to access the forum. Any ideas?

smk96
Hello, Since a week or so I have difficulties with logging in to BBO. The login page loads properly, but whenever I click the login button, it loads and loads until the message "connection lost" appears and I'm back at the login page. I'm using the latest Firefox version on Windows 8.1 and have tried everything - restarted router, PC and browser, deleted cache and cookies and so on, but nothing helps. The only thing I can do is trying to login over and over until it randomly works. All other online services work normally and don't cause problems with loggin in; I also haven't changed any of my compuer's or browser's settings when the BBO problem started to appear. What's wrong with BBO, is there a known issue regarding the login? And why, btw, does BBO still rely on the outdated Flash?
