I can't sign into BBO

I'm locked out of BBO again.

 

The regular BBO login has been unusable for over a year (it demands a version of Flash that doesn't exist for Linux).

 

So I've been using the mobile URL. But today, that URL pops up a little box "Could not load critical file. Please check your Internet connection and try again."

 

Using Ubuntu Linux 17.10 on a 64-bit AMD Athlon 5150 with 16G of RAM and 2TB of disk space.

See if that works? We'll check what's going on with the mobile link, but that was not meant for public use, and not posted anywhere visible. We passed it around to people who were unable to use flash for one reason or another.

I haven't been able to sign in for the last couple of hours. I'm using the Android app, and it says version 5.0.9. it gets stuck at Connecting. Please wait... Play anonymously works, so I don't think it's related to my connection.

Our main database server was down for a couple of hours last night, no one could login.

I have this same issue. have used android 5.0.1 for years on bbo android app, and after a factory reset, when I try to login on via the app, it gets hung up and freezes while trying to connect. anyone know of a fix? thanks,

I'm not able to log in through the web application. I click the Login/Register button and a new window comes up (as usual). After a while an ad comes on the left side of the window (as usual). But the login prompt never appears.

 

If I click "Try a preview of the next generation of BBO Software" instead of Login/Register, I can actually log in through the new version. Unfortunately I have some problems with the interface there though.

 

I'm using Mac + Chrome if it matters (I tried Safari and the same thing happened).

Sounds like you may be getting a bad ad that's somehow interfering with the application. It will probably clear up by itself as ads change.

 

If not, try installing an ad blocker.

 

I've seen several different ads there without any success. The most recent one is an ad FROM BBO about BBO's rules of the site. So I'd be surprised if this is the problem.

When you go to the Flash client these days, you should see a link in the middle of the page that says "Launch Bridge Base Online". You have to click on that link, then you'll get a popup that asks if you want to allow Flash for the site.

 

This is due to security changes that were made a few months ago in Chrome and Safari, they require you to explicitly enable Flash as you need it.

It seems like the combination of this change with my popup-blocking settings caused the issue; seems like it's fixed now with some changes to the pop-blocking.

I tried it with both MS Edge & Firefox.

We're not sure what kind of problem could be affecting both browsers in this way. We can see in our logs that you're downloading the code correctly, getting stuck on the yellow screen means that the JavaScript is crashing before it can display the login screen. If you have an ad blocker, try putting bridgebase.com in the whitelist, it might be interfering somehow.

 

We've tested the new version extensively with both these browsers, we know it's compatible. IE is where things get iffy.

I am having trouble signing in and when I go to a room, I loose my friends list so I can not find my p. Actually my p was on but it showed p as off line. It was a mess trying to play with flpcon1. It kept showing him off line and I could not save a place for him. We finally got to play together after 1/2 hour trying to connect.

Main problem is loosing friends list when I go to a room.

I have been logging on to bridge base for months. Today it keeps hanging oin the screen prior to the one with user name and password (BBO loading ..... but nothing happens). I am also getting a text based home page in place of the graphic page I usually get. Help!!!

Try clearing your browser cache.

I can no longer log on to BBO using the App on both my iPad and my iPhone. I get an error message in a yellow box saying ‘could not load critical file’. Any suggestiions? I am in UK

It's not just you. I have at least five people unable to login via the Apple app, so something has been broken. You can still log on via the web interface (online.bridgebase.com).
