whereagles
Dbl, and convert 3/4♦ to spades. Pass a 5♦ reply.
P_Marlowe
X, if partner bids Diamonds you are strong enough tobid spades, if he bids a mayor you are happy, ifhe passes (not likely, but sometimes he may for lackof options), you are happy as well. With kind regardsMarlowe

mikeh
double I am a big believer in bidding 3N over preempts with offshape hands, but only when the alternatives are either unpalatable or offer fewer ways to win. Thus, with AJxxx x KQxx AJx... I'd bid 3N. 3♠ eliminates 3N, which rates to be the best game, and double virtually invites a ♥ call, and whether that is 3 or 4 level still leaves me overbidding... correcting 3♥ to 3♠ or 3N (you pick) misdescribes your hand and correcting 4♥ to 4♠ is a big overbid. But here, we have two clear ways to win via double: partner can bid either major and we are ecstatic... compared to 3N... he is NOT bidding even a 6 card major over 3N, since we'd all bid 3N with some (31)=6=3 or (31)=7=2 with running ♦s,as an example. 3N only has one way to win. Conversely, doubling will lose only if he insists upon ♦s, and not even always then... we may still be able to successfully correct to ♠s.. and bidding 3N has several ways to lose, including missing a major game or slam or seeing them run the ♦ suit: LHO with x xx KQx KQxxxxx leads the surprising ♦K and catches partner with QJxx KJxxx xxx x. cherdano
Double looks like it has good odds, but what is everyone bidding over 3♦? I would bid 3N.
Free
You're too good for 3♠, so that leaves Dbl...
