jtfanclub
As a post in another forum points out, the MBC has a great deal of table hopping, and playing one or two boards. One way to have people have fun in longer games without banning people who want to play a board or two would be Help Me Find A Team Match. When you clicked this, the person (who I'll call the Captain) would be prompted to enter... -the name of their partner, and optionally the other two players on their team (no singles). -Restrictions based on the Captain, such as no enemies of the Captain, only the same language(s), friends only, etc., the same as creating a tournament, in addition to more standard restrictions such as level and scoring. Once they had done this, the teammates would get a box asking them to accept the invite. And once that had happened, the computer would automatically find pairs and/or a team that had also entered the 'Help Me Find a Team Match' and start an 8 board team game. People who left in the middle of the game would be penalized the same as if they'd left a normal tournament. This would give a much more serious feel to the bridge being played, and not the constant table/partner switching of the main bridge club. It would also mean that both pairs would have some idea of what they were playing, instead of one pair being established and the other being a random pickup. What do you think? I wouldn't expect this to come out until the new version, naturally.
BebopKid
Why not just require permission to join in MBC and ask for partners only, no singles on the info line?
