GriffenMac
You hold: [hv=s=sahkjxxdakxxxcaxx]133|100|[/hv] Auction goes 1♦ - 1♠ - 2♥ - 4♠ Do you make a try for slam and if so what?
MickyB
Pass, if pard was interested in slam opposite this he could have started with 2♠ (or 3♠ if 2♠ is/might be NF)
Fluffy
On my style 2♠ is forcing, so on this auction I'd have to pray to make 4♠ because 2 or 3 spade losers is very likelly.
han
I have never encountered this auction, partner should try not to take up so much room when we have reversed. Hence 4S should be very clearly defined, I would say quite a minimal hand with 7 spades, something like QJ10xxxx Qxx x xx Note that even KQJxxxx Qx xx xx makes it a very poor slam, and that hand is far too good. So pass is clear imo.
P_Marlowe
Hi, simple answer first #1 If you make a try, you just have 4NT, at least you will learn how good the spade suit is. #2 If you do not play WJS (ok, this is the B/I section, but WJS is still an option), you should pass, partner is broke, he could have bid 3S, which would have been forcing and shown a 6 card suit. If you play WJS, you should move on. With kind regardsMarlowe
cherdano
Glp. (He might need it in 4♠.)
pbleighton
What hand does pd have for 4S? I assume something like KQJ8xx and out. With a decent 6 card suit and slam interest he would bid 3S. With a minimum hand and a 6 card suit he would rebid 2S. I therefore pass. If you interpret 4S differently you might push on. Peter

Peter I interpret 4♠ differently (se Han's post above), but wouldn't dream of pushing on. I hope (believe) partner can make 4♠.
