foo
Style issue. Playing Fast Arrival, E should leap to 4♥. Playing Slow Arrival, E did the correct thing.
pbleighton
What system are you playing? What do 3H and 4H mean? Peter
EricK
Playing SAYC according to "the book", the 2♥ response promises a rebid; which means that 3♥ is forcing; which means that 3♥ must be GF. Since the 2♥ response wasn't itself GF, that means that 3♥ must show some extras (but not that many). If you don't think you have enough for an immediate raise to 3♥ you have to temporise with 2♠ and then bid 3♥ on the next round.
P_Marlowe
Hi, I believe, that you should only bid 4H as East, with a fairly tightly defined hand, you have noidea, how strong responder is.If you have enough to make game reasonable, bid 3H and see what develops from it. With kind regardsMarlowe
whereagles
I'm a firm believer that 1♠ 2♥4♥ should be a picture bid (hcp concentrated in the majors, no 1st round controls in the minors). Any hand with heart support that doesn't comply to this should bid something else (2♠ or 2NT or 3♥, depending on what you play).
Fluffy
Nuno that sounds like agreements not a Dogma of the system .
whereagles
hum.. I didn't quite follow that, gonzalo. Care to rephrase? :D
Fluffy
I sad it worng, will edit. I'm a firm beleiver on raising partner's response only with 4 cards, its a pilar on my system. But how to answer 1♠-2♥ with support doesn't look so crucial to me.
