Echognome
Seems a clear pass to me at these colors. I don't like opening 2♠ here lying about my spade length.
gwnn
i hate passing, this is an OK hand, 2♠ should work out not bad.
jillybean
Im finding out more and more that pass is a good bid – clear pass for me :)
goobers
As an aside, if you bid spades later, hopefully partner won't consider it a FNJ :)
pbleighton
This is completely a matter of style. I bid 2S, the seventh spade making up for the seat and vulnerablity. Peter
mike777
3s we are at fav vul, yes? I have close to 5 tricks I hope. :) edit ok we are in second seat that was too well hidden for me to notice. I thought we are east and in first seat. I pass.

inquiry
At matchpoints I don't want to try to outbid them at these colors, and partner will not be in on the joke if I open this trash 2♠. Pass is clearly right. Bridge is a partnership game. If your partner expects you to preempt with this kind of hand at these colors, well, then more often than not, you will get away with it. If he (or she) expects better preempts ((( ESPECIALLY IN SECOND SEAT WHERE YOU ARE EQUALLY LIKELY TO PREEMPT PARTNER ))) then bidding 2♠ here can be quite deadly. 1) Partner is weakish and bids too much2) Partner is strongish and bids too much3) Partner is very strong and bids way too much Pass this round, think about bidding next round if it looks right. jdonn
It brings a warm glow to my heart that there are no votes for 3♠.

P_Marlowe
I am East and green vs red? 3S, if the partnership allows, else 2S. With kind regardsMarlowe
P_Marlowe
It brings a warm glow to my heart that there are no votes for 3♠. :) , ok ... I misread the vulnerablity, 2S it is, a bitlight at red vs. green, but I wont pass.
DWM
I did have another question from this hand. After (P) - 2♠ - (3♥) - 4♠(5♥) - P - (P) - ?? What do you do with AQJ92AJ39A765 Just to remind you we are red they are white vun.

I would say it is 50/50 between 5S and X. With kind regardsMarlowe
Fluffy
It is hard to be objective when I know partner's hand, actually I give up, I can't picture hands when I know they are wrong.
