Free
4C, minorwood, the only thing I need from partner is Aces!!! ;)
inquiry
You have added a special condition to this board... that we are behind 15 imps with 4 boards to play (including this one). If this board is flat (no imp swing), that means we need two nice swings on the last three boards (nothing is impossible after the last two boards of the Bermuda bowl, but that is asking a lot). This is not the board I need to pick up these imps... but maybe we can get lucky. So I want to strike on this board if I can. So I have two possible strategies. The first and the one I voted on above is to make a pschic 5D (exclusion blackwood), and bid 7C if partner has heart ACE and CLUB KING, expecting a trump lead. This psych may also work if partner has all three mising aces as maybe grand works anyway. This is very attractive if I know my opponents are of the type that are more likely to lead a trump against grand slam than anything else. An alternative approach, is I could bid 4C as minorwood (as I would if the conditions of the match was not as stated). Here, if partner has 2 aces, I could then put all my eggs in the bad breaks will stop the slam and stop in 5C. If partner has 3 keycards, I would bid the grand and hope opponents stopped in six. Rain
Does 15 down at the half means its only 1/2 a segment? If so it seems like there's more than 4 boards to go, so should you risk it? haha R.Dog
