Few month ago BBO was recruting a team to improve GIB. Can you give some info about the status of that work ? do they still working ? what is their plan for the near future ? anything would interest us gibs partners who play with him alot and sometimes frustrated by it's bids it's system or the diferent between the two.

Maybe Gib's partners can help him somehow.

for a while, Gib hands were being placed into bridgebrowser. Then stephen pickett decided not to store the gib hands. But a bridgebrowser database of gib bids might be very helpful to the gib programmers,. They can call up auctions with GIB opposite gib or even gib opposite human, and using the plottign routines look for outliers in the bidding, and try to figure out what went wrong.

 

Maybe the gib programmers, who ever they are, can talk to pickett about making them a custom gib database. I suspect anyone playing with GIB in the money events might like to have access to such a beast too.

I should have thought/hoped that anyone searching the full BrBr database would be able to filter out GIB-played hands from the search results (should they so wish), so that including those hands in the main database would be little or no inconvenience, and have the benefit of transferring to the user the choice of whether or not to include those hands in a search, rather than making a unilateral choice on their behalf.

There are things that us gib's partner see every day for example give has a fear of playing NT, it would do alot to avoid it, for example gib tranfer show a 4 card suit, sometimes he tranfer with 44 in the majors instead of stayman!, with 5 cards he usually use texas.
