jdonn
Wow, none to me. At some point I will simply feel compelled to bid 4♠, I'll say KQx or better. I mean if I thought double showed this then I would do that instead but I am not at all convinced it does, and at some point with a singleton heart you just have to be practical I think
Guest Jlall
AJx but not KQx.

Fluffy
KQJ or Axx
ochinko
I don't get this. How can there be a takeout double after three suits were bid naturally?
whereagles
It's not take-out. It's "pard, I got some extras. Pls do something". I think Axx would be good enough for me.

Would prefer 3=1=5=4 or 3=0=5=5 for such a double.

What spade holding would you need to be worth a double?[/hv] Why are we doubling? This looks like our ODR is enormously in favor of playing, not defending. The 4H preempt greatly increases the odds that GOP has 5+S. With a 5 loser hand (HHx in S's given the rest of the example hand), 4S is a reasonable shot. With a 6 loser hand, I'd X. Fluffy
Why are we doubling? Because we don't wanna play 4♥ This looks like our ODR is enormously in favor of playing, not defending. Yeah, that's why we double. I had a similar hand this weekend will post in another thread http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?act=ST&f=6&t=19358
BebopKid
I think I'd always bid 4♠
