Finch
The only danger is that trumps are 5-0 (on any other layout we just cash two top trumps and run winners).I know for certain that at the table I would play a trump at this point. If I don't I risk having a diamond (or club) ruffed with a singleton trump and losing another 2 trump tricks to QJxx sitting over. What can I do about RHO having 5 trumps? I play one from dummy, RHO puts the 9 in, I win the king and RHO blows. I cross in clubs, ruff a spade, cross in clubs, ruff a spade, cash a diamond discarding a spade and play a club. RHO ruffs (his second trick) .. but even if this works, it needs RHO to follow to 2 clubs, 3 diamonds, 5 hearts and thus LHO has 7 spades and the DA which I don't believe. Try it the other way up. When RHO follows to the second diamond I win in hand and play a heart, covering LHO's card. If RHO wins and gives his partner a diamond ruff I'm still OK as long as clubs aren't 5-0... but surely West would have a led a club from a 5-card suit on the auction? So win the diamond in hand, heart. Whatever card West plays I cover. If East discards I play a club to hand and play diamonds discarding spades until West ruffs in. Exactly what happens next depends on what he played on the first round on hearts, and what & when he ruffs in... edit: If West led from Axx diamonds and a club void I've gone off. But it looks as if diamonds are 2-3 and anyway that gives West a very large number of spades.

Finch
Oh yes I had 8 diamonds between the hands when I was thinking about this. In that case I'm really struggling not to play a heart to the king at trick 2.
whereagles
I don't think RHO can have 5 trumps, so I'll play a heart down. If RHO follows, I'll just take ♥AK and run the diamonds, coming to hand on a club.
Guest Jlall
press the claim button and see if they reject before playing on.
Finch
I suppose we are being asked to exercise our brains on how to make it when RHO discards on the heart to the king. I'm certainly not crossing to hand in clubs to play a heart towards dummy, that loses to 4-1 clubs and 4-2 diamonds
