3S. Pd has declined the invitation by bidding 3D.

Peter

He did no such thing. Pass is the only bid that specifically declines the invitation.

Hi,

I want to add two things

- Pass is forcing, at least for me, since 2C

forces the partnership to 3S

As I have said already, I am not 100% sure,

what the 2C bid meant.

i.e. pass sends the message, that partner

is not sure, if he wants to play spade or

defend.

The only bid to decline the inviation is 3S.

- How you play 3D is a matter of partnership

agreement, for me it is a game try with

diamonds values, it does not even need to

be a 4 carder => i.e. holding a 3 card suit

does not gurantee a diamond fit.

With kind regards

Marlowe

2C was forcing to 2S.

Thus pass would have been a weak bid.

Is pard really going to pass 3N with a sharp 5-5? This hand looks very suit oriented to me.

With a low doubleton club, yes. The winning defence against 4S is obvious.

And is it obvious to partner that the defense vs 4S is obvious?
