P_Marlowe
Hi, 3D. Double is certainly fine, pass is no option. You dont need a stopper for 1NT, but personally I need one, facing a 5 card suit. 2S asks for further description, main focus a stopper.I dont have one, partner knows about my heart suit,I show my 4 card minor. The cue promises at least opening strength.Does it create a game force?I dont know, but I would doubt it, and also thatpartner has to bid again, if he does, than we arein a force. With kind regardsMarlowe
whereagles
This cue is usually the same as (1♠) dbl (pass) 2♠ but about a queen stronger. What it shows depends on your agreements. In my book it's something like a balanced 13-14 with no stop, so I'd bid 3♥ now (in case pard has 4♥ and hand unsuitable for an initial dbl). asc
a) clear DOUBLE b ) invite+ he have almost an opening hand +c) without 4♥(maybe)d) 2NT (but 3NT could be the right bid) because he can be with [hv=s=s10xxhaxdk10xxcaj10x]133|100|[/hv] and just need some help in ♠ -we have it -dotn't forget! we didn't balanced with 1NT so nobody can blame us about 2NT with QJ blank in ♠
Guest Jlall
I would probably have balanced with 1N. I will now bid 2N. I really like the thought of playing NT with this hand.

skjaeran
A. Close between double and 1NT, both acceptable.B. Partner is probably in the 13-15 range, balanced w/o ♠ stopper.C. 2♠ is descriptive (see B. above) invites gameD. If partner can produce the magic Txx in spades, we rate to make 3NT. There's no way to find out. 9xx might also be enough if RHO holds the ten. I'll just gamble on 3NT.
Poky
A) double is possible, 1NT is also acceptable;) One further WC told me one time that this situation partner have "passed hand", no "not opening hand", he may, for example, have 14-15hcp and no bid over 1♠C) if he can pass with opening hand over 1♠, there is other way to forcing game? This bid promise one more bid imo.D) 3♦, my first suit, if p bid 3♥ i bid 4♥. Good point. Let's say, you don't like the spade "stopper" and bid 3♦, hoping to hear 3♠ (after which 3NT would be pretty automatic). Then, partner bids 4♣. So:1♠ pass pass Dblpass 2♠ pass 3♦pass 4♣ pass ?? What do you bid now and why?
Edmunte1
a) Dbl is OK, probably 1nt better:) 14 - 16c) Doesn't necesarily promise a rebid. Usually partner has Hxxx or xxxx in ♠. Asks primarily for a half stooper in ♠d) 2nt
