rusty Posted April 23, 2007 Report Share Posted April 23, 2007 It seems that it is impossible to cheat in these and other gib tournaments because 1) No kibitzers are allowed, and 2) You cannot chat with any other players in the same tournament or even post any messages to the tournament. Because of this, I feel it is a much fairer test of skill if everyone plays the same set of boards. I am always frustrated playing in these gib tournaments because if you don't have the cards it's very difficult to win, let alone do reasonably well. I realize that I've seen previous posts mentioning that the better players will generally do well in the long run, but I tend not to play in them because contrary to what a lot of players think, these gibs are awful bidders and players. There would be more skill involved (in adapting to the bids and plays of the robots), than luck, if the boards are the same for all the participants.
