Credit Card

Recommended Posts

I'm not the driving force behind this, however I would feel safe in saying that check or money order would be accepted forms of payment. Once we've received and processed your payment you would be able to use the funds as you wish at any time, in any amount or combination.

Remember, charges would only apply to special features, such as private instruction, private club membership or tournaments, tournaments with a sanctioning body such as the ACBL, or for physical products - the functions you know of today as free will remain such to my understanding.

Take care,

John

How do members who do not have credit cards access services that may be charged fo rwhen the new changes come into force

As long as you can find a way to get us the money, you will be able to purchase Bridge Base Dollars. The nice thing about using a credit card is that this will allow your BB$ account to be credited immediately. If you use another method such as:

1) Sending us a check

2) A wire transfer

3) A service like PayPal

You will have to wait until we get paid in order to use the BB$ that you buy (but if you establish a credit history with us I suspect we will be willing to credit your account immediately and trust you to arrange for payment later).

Another option is to use a friend's credit card (with his/her permission of course) and settle with your friend yourself.

BBO... The Ebay of Bridge

I hope it works, because if people are willing to spend money for products and services, then we will all benefit by having better products and services. I surely would spend a buck or two for a challenging tournment with serious players and carefully preselected hands. BTW, the first place I heard the quote above in blue was from 2over1.

Just my dos centavos... in the Rochester, NY area a live game of bridge costs $3-6 per session, mostly to pay the director and cover the cost of the facility, along with MP fees, with the occasional charity game. $1-2 for a session where I can drink beer and play loud heavy metal while playing bridge is very much my sort of thing :).

The added factor of a cost to play will only encourge better behavior, especially if players can be ejected without refund for discourtesy.

Take care,

John

This is a problem though, especially for us international users without credit cards, or friends who have them.

Would debit cards be accetable, such as Switch or Delta (for us British people) or Maestro?

I must confess that I would be reluctant to send a cheque (thats how we spell it over here) to America
