Chat Button/Function

Recommended Posts

I am proposing that you create another Chat Button function.

Occasionally I kib at a Lesson, Table, Tourney, etc. and find myself wanting to make a note to myself that I can review later in the Chat log.

Having a "Chat to Self" function that would not display on other members monitors or show up in their chat log would be perfect.

thanks for considering

Click on the chat button

In the Chat to: box (which may say table, or kibitzers), type your own name

Type the message///

press send....

That will do it, you can send yourself a private message....

In all seriousness, I don't know if you can send yourself a private chat message when you are playing in a tournament etc or not....

On a half-related issue, I know it is lazy of me but I can never remember the control key shortcuts to create a "chat to kibbitzers", "chat to club", "chat to lobby", "chat to room/table", "reply to last chat" etc (are there any more?). I also find it irritating having to select the desired recipient from a drop-down box (the required option is rarely visible so I not only have to click on the drop-down arrow but then have to scroll through the list). It would probably clutter up the interface but perhaps the more common options could be available as one-click buttons available from the main screen?

An alternative would be to have the control-key shortcuts listed beside the relevant options in the drop down list as a reminder. ie

"Kibitzers (control+K)"

or underline the "K" in kibitzers

so as to provide a constant aide memoire. It would not completely eliminate the need to select from a drop-down list, but the constant drip drip reminder of the shortcut would eventually seep into long term memory.
