It often gets raised on a doubleton in these situations, and I don't have the suit to warrant that when there is another very descriptive bid for my hand. helene_t Posted April 14, 2007 Report Share Posted April 14, 2007 2N. I don't like overcalling at the 3-level on a mediocre 5-card. Fortunately I have a good alternative. I probably won't concede more one spade trick in 3NT so even if partner has 3 hearts and a singleton spades, 3N has roughly the same chances as 4♥. It would be easier at IMPs, though.
