hrothgar
Dealer: North Vul: E/W Scoring: IMP ♠ AQ9 ♥ [space] ♦ AQ3 ♣ AKJ7543 3♠-(4♥)-? I suppose we agree this hand is worth a force to slam, even at this colors? Since 7 might be lay-down, how do you try to decide about 6 vs 7? The only thing that concerns me on this hand is the KJ of Spades. If partnership agreement requires one of the top three honors for a 3♠ opening then I'm just going to punt 7. I expect to have plenty of entries to establish the Club suit. If I need to fall back on a finesse, I expect that the King or Queen will be in the pocket. P_Marlowe
Hi, the only thing that may worry me,partner may hold an 8 card suitheaded by the Jack.A 7 card suit with the Jack is no 3S opener. With kind regardsMarlowe
Guest Jlall
I would bid keycard and 7 if partner shows a keycard. He is probably 10 times as likely to hold the SK as the HA, and this caters to partner showing 0 so I won't just bid 7 now.
whereagles
Yeah 4NT + some nr. of spades seems ok :)
hatchett
Why not 5NT grand slam force?

Echognome
Why not 5NT grand slam force? Ditto. Pick-a-slam doesn't seem like it makes sense here.
Finch
5NT "grand slam force" from me as well. p.s. I believe I recognise this and a few of the companion hands you have put up from a very impressive last set recovery a year or so back. Am I right? SoTired
5N GSF asks for 2 of top 3 trump honors. Question: have you agreed with partner on what to do if less than 2 of top 3? If you bid 5N and partner bids 6C/6D/6H/6S - Does one of these show the king? Since I am not sure, I bid 4N and bid 7 if partner shows a keycard. Fluffy
where I play it is ♣=0, ♦= 1 and then 7 of our suit to play, with 6 of our suit leading to missunderstaning most of the time.
pclayton
If this hand is from the same match as the 3=2=2=6 8 count, is pard messing around with J-T 6th? Normally, I would expect a hand good enough for the 5 level, so I'll key card.

Yeah, all these posts should belong into a "World-Class Bridge" subforum.I will write a longer post later on what happened. Here, both tables started with 4N, so I assume they did not have a GSF available that can ask for one trump honor.
Miron
I like 6♥ bid (unless partner takes it as natural),the meaning is obvious: I want play 6♠ or 7♠ and I have heart void, what is your opinion?
