jim420
This hand occurred while I kibitzed a yellow's (South) table [hv=d=e&v=n&n=sakqh6dakqt6ck542&w=s987643hdj8ct8763&e=shakqjt5d975432cj&s=sjt52h987432dcaq9]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] On that table it was 3♦xE-6E S W N1♥ P P X2♦ 2♠ X XX 3♦ P P XP P P Lead ♠J Describe how your bidding system would handle this (as any of the 2 sides) plz... ;)
Apollo81
I'd imagine that other tables could get to the three level doubled on the EW cards. West should not have doubled 2♠. East should pull to 3♥x
inquiry
West should pass 2♠ instead of double. EW might well be out of the auction after that.
han
Agree that W should pass, but E would still bid. By the way, the usual order is E, S, W and N.
inquiry
Agree that W should pass, but E would still bid. By the way, the usual order is E, S, W and N. After South's Free bid of 2♠ (and a pass instead of dbl by west), the bidding will be too high by the time it gets back to EAST to take a third bid on 10 working hcp opposite a partner who could not keep the bidding open at the one level. Guest Jlall
uhh...why is east bidding diamonds? And how can he sit for 3D X?
helene_t
I don't think it has much to do with bidding system. As East I would open 4♥, which North will double and South will convert. I don't like East's diamonds bids. He doesn't want a diamond lead.
