Apollo81
♠KQ2♥1073♦93♣87652 unfavorable, MPs 1♦-(2♣)-pass-(pass)Dbl-(Rdbl)-??? pass would be for penalties Defend your choice.
awm
I'll bid 2♦. Not eager to penalty pass with small trumps. There are several advantages to the 2♦ bid over bidding 2M: (1) It is the only call that might find us an 8-card fit (partner can be 3361 or 3460, but not a 5-6). (2) If the opponents double quickly, I can redouble for rescue and actually get to partner's 4-card major. Bidding 2M directly is kind of a guess and partner could easily be (34)51 or the like and land me doubled in a 3-3 fit.
Halo
2♦ Second choice 2♦...

cherdano
Uh oh, I don't like 3-2 fits. Too bad any 2-level bid could be one. I will try 2♦.
whereagles
Apollo, how many hands u play per day? lol... 3rd problem in a row :) Pard should be 4-4-4-1 with extras. 2♠ is the canonical choice, but there's a case for 2♥, so that you ruff from the weakish hand :D

han
I'd use one of my purple Tridouble cards. If we are not using these I'd bid 2D, planning to redouble if they double. Most likely I will get to a 4-3 major fit. Unfortunately I have told them that I'm broke and that we don't have a fit.
han
Ugh, again MPs, I didn't take that into account. Could you perhaps alert that?
jdonn
I do notice that on every example of "your partner could have blah blah" where SR tries to put you in a 3-2 fit, 2♣XX is easily making, possibly with an overtrick. 2♣XX should be worth no points. I wouldn't double 3♣ if RHO had bid that instead of XX. In fact if he had bid 4♣ instead, would it be even the slightest bit surprising if he made? If it were imps I might have passed the double (without a redouble) since they aren't in game yet anyway.
Apollo81
IMO and experience people who redouble in this auction have 8 tricks.
