Free
Thank East for taking ♠A. If he doesn't, there's no squeeze and 6NT is defeated  If he counts declarer's tricks, he should not rectify the count for declarer this easily... inquiry
Dealer: ????? Vul: ???? Scoring: Unknown ♠ [space] ♥ [space] ♦ AQ5 ♣ AT5 ♠ [space] ♥ [space] ♦ J82 ♣ Q93 ♠ J5 ♥ [space] ♦ T ♣ J84 ♠ KT ♥ [space] ♦ 7 ♣ K76 South should keeps 3♣ (not 3♠). NOW even if East returns a small Club the contract makes. Actually, squeezes are a funny thing, and south went wrong keeping 3♠, he should keep two spades and 3 clubs and two spades as in the ending above. Thus the only way to really defeat this contract is to duck the spade QUEEN (don't win the ACE). On a low club back.... now the threats against east are the club JACK and spade jack.. when the diamonds are cashed. So there is an another lesson here... not only should EAST duck the spade ACE, but south has to to keep three clubs to add a threat in the south hand. Notice how powerful Kx of clubs is compared to stiff king... after the club return.
