I was amazed to find out that in most of the recent polls my vote corresponded with the majority. Well, not this time. I pass. In reverse vulnerabilities I bid 5. I don't consider double as an option with that hand and at that level.

Edit: Oops, sorry. It was we that were vulnerable. Then it's 5 from me too.

(What's the matter with me? Have I lost my individuality, or have I begun to understand bidding? :) )

5H pretty clear as there are many hands even from passed partner that could produce 12 tricks. Dlbe is not a wise choice at all as partner may pass and we are not really loaded with defensive tricks here. You would be quite sad if 4S made or went 1 down and you could score 1430 your way. Passing is whimpy.

I'd be surprised if only 1 pair out of the top 1000 partnerships in the world played that 4NT as ace ask.

And of course I bid 5. It's precisely cause of these hands why pre-empts are so good. The "correct" call over them can lead to major, major disasters.

Ok, ok, I posted this to see if anybody was rethinking the knee-jerk 5 reaction. I held this hand about 3 years ago, and I bid 5 too. This went for 800, with 4S going down, and at the other table, the preempt was only 3, so there really was no decision. RHO has only KQJTxxx of spades, and partner really has nothing for you. At the time, I wondered if passing was reasonable. I don't think it's THAT unreasonable, since it seems unlikely that we are making 5. Give partner the right 5-count (x xxx Qxxx Kxxxx) and you're probably making, but give him two aces (xx x Axxxx Axxxx) and you're still likely to go down, not to mention that you might get raised. But, you're only winning big if 5 is going for a number and 4 isn't making. This decision might also depend on RHO's preempting style. If this is likely to be only a 7-card suit, passing looks more reasonable.
