twcho
imp, both vul, you at 2nd seat holding AJxxx void xxx KT8xx, your RHO open 1♥. What is your action? You have 2 suiters overcall in your arsenal, namely 2♥ showing ♠ + ♣. Will you use this bid? Edit: Sorry, mixed up ♦ & ♣
Fluffy
2♥ shows [D]?, well, I don't have ♦ so I won't bid that. 1♠.
whereagles
If I have a gadget for this hand, why shouldn't I use it?
david_c
Yes. Particularly if you are lucky enough to have a method to show the precise suits you hold. Though this hand is dead minimum for me.

I agree, and it's dead minimum for me too.
MFA
Just 1♠. 2♥ should show a somewhat better hand. But overbidding to get both your suits in is tempting of course.
zasanya
Will use my 2 suiter gadget. It is 2♠ to show ♠ and ♣.
gwnn
In my regular partnership 2♥ also means black 5-5 (with the pointed suits we just bid'em), but this is just a bit under the minimum mark. Make my spade jack the Q and maybe give me ♣J and I intervene. Of course this is not a wise advice-type post. It's only my preference. 1♠ is 100%, all positions all scoring systems all vulnerabilities, mandatory, however, in my humble opinion. Guest Jlall
I'd just bid 1S.
skjaeran
Agree with Justin. This hand is too weak to bid 2♥, which shows 5-5 in the blacks in my methods. So 1♠ for me.
twcho
Suppose you tried your weapon with 2♥, the bidding went:1♥ 2♥ 3♥ 3NTPass Pass X PassPass ? Now you have a few options available:Pass, XX (express doubt), 4!c (don't want to play 3NTX) What will you pick?
Guest Jlall
pass
paulg
Pass. I made this decision when I bid 2♥. It's often the case that you make a light call and regret it later in the auction. The instinctive reaction is to run, but there is rarely a better spot and it is not partnership enhancing. Either you agree to make light calls and suffer both the ups and downs, or you play a more conservative game. But do not change in the middle of an auction! keylime
I bid 1NT, 3 suited t/o for the unbids. The reason is, when you make a 2 suited overcall the 4th suit, the three card fragment in essence, becomes very hard to play in. Without the t/o, which at equal colors I probably make, I overcall 1♠; I don't have enough hand to make this overcall and buy the hand - if they end up declaring it's nearly double dummy.
