I post it only because it might be relevant to the play. 2N was a misclick that went uncorrected, and subsequent auction has quite a few holes in it. Anyway, I ruffed trick 2, and got the trumps right, taking 3 rounds via finesse, then ducked a Club, ruffed the Heart return, cashed Diamond Ace (no Q) and a top Club, all following. Now we are down to:[hv=d=w&v=n&n=sqhakt754d7653cj8&w=skt8652h8dakjc652&e=sa4h63dt842cak973&s=sj973hqj92dq9cqt4]399|300|Scoring: IMPW...N...E...S1♠ 2♥ 2N 3♥3♠ 4♥ P P4♠ P P PLead: ♥AK[/hv]As the cards lie, South having both the minor queens, I have no way to fail, but if the minor Queens are split I can make only provided that I guess the layout. In fact I played South for the final Club. Is one play superior to the other? Or perhaps there is a better line in total?
Finch
How about ruff the heart, ace of spades, spade finesse, king of spades, ace of diamonds, king of diamonds, jack of diamonds. Discarding the club loser on the 10 of diamonds in dummy. If South has a singleton diamond and 5 hearts you should have led the second round of diamonds from the dummy; but it's more likely he has singleton club and five haerts in which case you don't want to play any rounds of clubs early.
