Poky
IMP, we vul ♠A109xxx♥Axx♦Ax♣xx (4♥) ?? What do you bid and why? __* How can I edit the name of the post? I put an ace too much!
gwnn
I'm going to bite and bid 4♠. If it's bad, there's always "nice pre-empt opp" when I realize he bid it on xxx KQJxxxx x xxx.
Halo
4♠ Obvious answer is that I have a good hand with lots of spades. Only real downside (other than -1 versus +300) is that partner with some spades and singleton heart will be under pressure to go one more over five hearts. whereagles
Despite the heart length, you probably have to bid now because pard won't be eager to balance on what rates to be an aceless hand. 4♠ thus.
Fluffy
pass can be best, but I would bid 4♠ as everyone else
Free
Why does the topic title have ♣A, and the post itself does not? :P
Poky
Why does the topic title have ♣A, and the post itself does not? :P Because I cannot correct the name of the post.

pclayton
Interesting. Someone finally came up with a hand where its close between passing 4♥ and bidding 4♠, and I opt for the pass. I think I'll pass this and hope they overbet the pot. 4♠ doesn't look likely to make unless pard bids on his heart shortness.
awm
4♠ for me. Note this is quite good opposite hands like: KxxxxKxxxxxxx xxxxxKQxxAxxx KxxxKxxxxKQxx I don't really expect partner to bid on any of these hands. In fact if we give partner a "real" takeout double at the four-level: KxxxxKJxKQxxx then 6♠ is looking quite good.
Flame
4♠ for me, pass is second option but my expirence is bidding without thinkking too much usually works better then passing.
skjaeran
4♠. I'm a bidder. Never double, since I can't stand 4NT or 5m from partner.
Gerardo
Why does the topic title have ♣A, and the post itself does not? B) Because I cannot correct the name of the post. Fixed. Just need to edit the first post, topic title can be modified there (assuming people can modify their own posts, that's possible IIRC)
Free
Why does the topic title have ♣A, and the post itself does not? Because I cannot correct the name of the post. :P Ah ok, 4♠ then :)
Edmunte1
4♠, this rates to have good chances
P_Marlowe
4S, it may make. double would be for take out, henceis not an option, pass maybe right, but it will end the auction. With kind regardsMarlowe
