goobers
Playing at open pairs in sectionals, I did really poorly with my mentor type guy (we've played 4 times before and always placed... oh well) Bad bad defense by me pretty much blew the whole thing, but anyway... Here's one hand that came up: You're second seat, all white, MPs. ♠KQJxx ♥A98xx ♦Kx ♣x (1C) - 2C* - (2D) - 4S(5C) *Would you? What do you do now? pbleighton
Many players, including me, play Michaels as either weak or very strong. I would overcall 1S with this good but not great hand. However, I believe Mike Lawrence, for example, plays Michaels at all strengths, so you can do what you like. Having bid 2C, I really don't know what to do. I probably pass. jtfanclub
Opening lead is going to be a diamond, through the king, to the diamond bidder. Looks like down one to me- if partner wants to sacrifice, he's welcome to it. Pass.
