pbleighton
I think it should be whatever flavor of Blackwood you are playing, though it would clearly be an unusual hand for 4NT to be a good bid. Certainly this would be true with a pickup pd. I will be interested to read the rationales for those who disagree. Pd has 5+ spades, so you are unlikely to have more than an 8 card fit (and maybe not even that) in either of your two suits. Peter
irdoz
The way I play: i) A 4nt bid by responder after a forcing spade raise is rkc for spades ii) An immediate 4nt is aces asking and specifically not rkc for spades.. A hand like x A KQJ10xxxxxx x
luis
RKCB in spades, any other option is insane.
EricK
RKCB in spades, any other option is insane. But most play that 1S (X) 2NT is a raise to at least 3S, so now you have two routes to 4NT. 1) via 2NT2) bid it immediately It makes sense for 1) to be RKB, and 2) to be normal Blackwood. A good rule is that if you could have agreed the suit but didn't then 4NT is not RKB for that suit. Eric
Free
You didn't mention the vulnerability, so I don't know if it's better to make them play doubled or let us play some slam. So I can't say for sure what this would mean... So again: IF YOU PLACE BIDDINGS, INCLUDE THE VULNERABILITY!!! Anyway, without knowing enough, 4NT is not a good bid for me, except quantitative and slam invitational. All other bids are absurd imo, even RKC! keylime
I voted Other for some reason - oh yes, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING bidding 4NT?!

A hand like x A KQJ10xxxxxx x I agree, if pd wants to go to slam he can bid it slower. Mike ;D
inquiry
The auction goes: 1S - (Dbl) - 4NT The original poll is lost. I didn't respond earlier, but I did vote in the now missing poll. For a long time, i played these jumps all as "presumed" trump fit with five card roman keycard blackwood. Now that I am older (and hopefully wiser), I would not play this 4NT as RKCB. The reason being that i have at my disposal both fit jumps and 2NT to show spade support, which I can then follow up with RKCB if I like. Thus, I would play this as normal blackwood, just looking for aces. Think a hand like what Mike posted. Ben
