Guest Jlall
Incidently, you can expose the psych by bidding 3NT followed by spades if pard pulls you out of NTs. No, you can't. If partner bids something over 3N and you bid 4S that is a cuebid. If my opps want to psyche first seat weak 2s I'll be glad to encourage them by telling them I cannot expose their psyche. When their partner starts jumping it will become quite amusing.
dake50
Psyched on what? 5-7 solid clubs to set 3NT? So, Ill fall for it???
Impact
The one thing people forgot to mention is that if PARTNER has short S (and he will have 0 or 1 if there was no psyche) he may have pushed to bid his long H. If that is the case you should just be happy to have escaped the axe in 3H (3NT with this hand is awful as no S tricks etc)...and smile sweetly if they have psyched. In a far far way land I have a well-deserved reputation as an almost inveterate psycher (or is that merely psychotic) and I can tell you that the people who try to double-guess continually are the biggest losers. Skid Simon is so right: concede the occasional battle, win the war!
HeartA
There are two choices for me: pass or 3NT. 3S would never come to my mind. You have to refrain yourself of bidding 3S if it ever comes to your mind.
the hog
Pass. 3NT won't make, neither will 4H.

(2♠) .. 3♥ (pass) 3NT(pass) 4♥ (pass) 4♠ How come a hand that wanted to play in 3NT, possibly with a lot of spade wastage, has now found "extras" to play a slam? This is obviously not impossible, but is it more likely that LHO psyched?
jtfanclub
(2♠) .. 3♥ (pass) 3NT(pass) 4♥ (pass) 4♠ If they psyched, partner should have some spades, so why would he pull?

marcD
Clear Pass . Why is 3H better than 3NT ? easy, i am not doubled. If they psyched so be it .

Well, he might think hearts play better, i.e. KxxQJT9xx--AKxx
