cherdano
What is the system bid with a good hand including long clubs and no diamond stopper? This seems like a pretty common hand type in general, but 4♣ seems to be unavailable to show it. My understanding of non-leaping Michaels (which I have never played) is that you bid 5♣ or double. Double becomes a bit more for a thrump double then, i.e. partner should strain to bid 3N with values, rather than bid a 4-card major. With this understanding, double becomes a bit more attractive. han
I double. If partner jumps to 4S then I have good reasons to think we got to the right spot.
whereagles
X is absurd. The doublers deserve their 4-2 fit. Whereagles, you can try to bid 4C over your partner's 4S, but I don't think it will work. huh.. just because you don't buy to ELC, it doesn't mean it's wrong, ok? ELC stands for EQUAL level conversion... I don't see how that can apply to converting spades to clubs... I think that was the joke about converting 4S to 4C B)
