Scores

hi,

I calculated it 3 times using 2 different calculators and then again without a calculater and I always get .6113 - however, according to all that I know it should be exactly the figure that is displayed at the top of the screenshot.

Did you receive a message during that tourney that the director adjusted a score? If not, I cannot think of any other explaination for this but a software error.

If I add the % figures from myhands, I get an even higher value, but as we know these figures are not as valid as those from the movie.

Adjustments made after the tourney has completed are not reflected in every players individual results. Adjustments can be made as long as the completed T is visible in the list of Ts. Adjustments update the Tourney Results Page, but not myhands or player movies.

of course, could also just be a bug, although I hope that is not the case. I will eventually print a full recap sheet in the tourney results page and that will help us figure out if something is going wrong.

Let us asume that in Board 2 the players A and B, played C and D and did not finisch an time.

They score AVE-,. and the other players results depend on that. If know the score is corrected to 6S=, lets asume that is the new top.

Now not only the score of A,B,C and D is affected, but also all other pairs.

Those on the same axis, now score a litte less since there is a new top, all pairs on the other axis score a little better since ther is a new bottom.

So if a score corection does not lead to a change of all movies of all players, than the figures in your movie are not exact. Since i never noticed changed figures in my movie, if not my own score was corrected i assume the complete update is not done. That could lead to to much network traffic.

But if i'm right you can not get your correct avarage score from your movie!

Have a nice day

Hi Uday,

you said: "Adjustments made after the tourney has completed are not reflected in every players individual results." I asume you mean by that that the MOVIE display remains the same for a player once the tourney is over. But it should be consistent at that time, that means there should be no dicrepancy between the average of all board % figures and the "Your score" figure in the movie. If adjustments really were made after the end of the tourney, this "Your score" MOVIE figure should be different from the corresponding figure in the leaderboard, but they were the same in this case.

If you wanted to say that only the per board figures do not change in case of adjustments, but the "Your score" figure is updated, your explaination would make more sense. However, I doubt that a difference of 5% between "Your score" and the average of the per board figures can be explained by adjustments for other pairs, as they should change this score only a little and in both directions.

Good Point Karl!

The result of one score correction would lead to a maximum of 0.25% each in that 10 board tourney.

But let us take a look on the result again:

First has: 213.5 57.39% => 372 = 100%

2nd has: 190.7 57.10% => 334 = 100%

3rd has: 211.5 56.85% => 372 = 100%

Since there can be sitouts, unplayed Boards, unfinisched boards, survivor movements wich all lead to a diffrent number of results per board the comparisom is difficult.

There is another possibility, the tournament is parted to groups of 16 to 25 tables, could it be that the movie score is that from your chunk, and not the overall one?

But the problem seem deeper than i asumed.

Have a nice day

Seems the second did not finisch one board, so the base for that result is different.

Now I'm confused, lol!

I will look at the code again, to see how the individual board percentages are calculated, and how the final scores are calculated. I'll let you know what i find.

For sure, I think it is time i also produced a 'recap sheet', with the scores and mp/imps for each "pair" (within quotes because i've gone back and forth on whether pairs with subs pick up the original scores or not, and i dont remember where i wound up). That will help track down the error, if error it is.

I do know that the MP scores sent to the client are rounded up/down, but i dont know if they can have this much of an impact.
