DWM
Bidding has gone 1D - 1H2D - 3C3D - 3S4C - 4H... We are learning 2 over 1, from the Mike Lawrence CD. few questions here. 1) Was the 3C bid GF. 2) If not, would I be right in assuming 3H would be forcing, showing something like 6-5 in H/C 3) When did we set a suit? 4) Should 3S be almost like a FSF bid mainly asking for a spade stop for NT. 5) Does the next bid after a FSF bid always set the suit (unless we end up in NT)

Yes2. n/a3. you never did4. Yes; it says "describe your hand"5. Not necessarily. I expect opener to be something like 2173 and responder to be something like 2614 or 2605. Double !
I expect opener to be something like 2173 and responder to be something like 2614 or 2605. IMO, it's important to mention the implication that, without a supporting diamond card to help opener run the suit in NT, responder is showing a very good 6-5, maybe 6-4 (with good inner solidity in both round suits) with the 3♠ bid. Otherwise, without the fitting diamond honor or fairly strong round suits, this hand looks to be headed for trouble unless responder's hearts are very good. IMO, the 4H bid seems to me to be an offer to contract for 10 tricks with hearts as trumps. DHL
Guest Jlall
Opener can't have 6 hearts and bid 3S over 3D, he would bid 3H.
Apollo81
Opener can't have 6 hearts and bid 3S over 3D, he would bid 3H. Qx K9xxxx Q AQxx I would want to get to 3NT on this hand. If I bid 3♥ pard may raise on Kx Q AKxxxxx Kxx Agree most hands with six hearts would bid 3♥. I still think 4♥ is an offer though.
P_Marlowe
1) certainly2) N/A, 3H may or may not be forcing3) unclear4) yes, but it depends on your generaly style5) if you bid partners suit, 3H instead of 3S would certainly set hearts, ... unless partner bids 3NT With kind regardsMarlowe PS: The given seq. has nothing to with 2/1.
