awm
IMPs favorable, you deal with: [hv=d=s&v=e&s=sjxhakjxxxdxcajtx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] The auction so far: 1♥ - 2♥ - 3♥ - 3♠4♣ - 4♠ - Pass - Pass The 2♥ call is michaels (spades and an undisclosed minor) and partner's 3♥ is competitive (2♠ would be limit raise). What's your call?
Foxx
I would bid 5♥ and I wouldn't be so sure that it will end up being a "sac".
Guest Jlall
Presumably you bid 4C to involve partner in the decision, and partner chose pass. I would pass.
P_Marlowe
Pass. You did bid 4C, and partner was at the table? With kind regardsMarlowe
Fluffy
Pass doesn't mean he wants to play this contract, means he doesn't know what to do. Depending on wich inor LHO has I think we will want to defend or not. It is more likelly that it is diamonds, but a phamtom defense also costs more IMPs, making it very close. I'll go with 5♥
skjaeran
I made the 4♣ bid to give partner a clue over 4♠. I've got no extras after now, and will thus stick with partner's decision. If I'd got an extra king or ace, I'd double to show extra strenght. Partner would then know what to do - pass for penalty or bid 5♥ to make. awm
The table result was 4♠=, for -620. 5♥X would have gone for -300. I'll leave it to you to assess the blame; here is the full hand: [hv=d=s&v=e&n=sqxhqxxxdk9xxcxxx&w=sat9xxhxxdajtxxcq&e=skxxxhxdqxxckxxxx&s=sjxhakjxxxdxcajtx]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv]
Apollo81
I would not have bothered with the clubs. 4♥ over 3♠ and 5♥ over 4♠ since it's favorable vulnerability.
