Fluffy
I'd bid 3NT, switch me a couple of cards and probably still 3NT
Guest Jlall
The problem with 3H is partner with 5242 and no club stop might well raise us. The problem with 3N is that my stoppers are inadequate and my hand is better suited for suit play (A and Qxx of partners suits). The problem with 3S is that bidding it with a stiff is potentially misleading, and could land us in a poor contract if partner is say 5143 and bids 4C over 3S. I'm really not sure but I think I'd bid 3H.
pbleighton
I should think about it, but I don't, and bid 3NT thoughtlessly. Peter
mikeh
3N. Partner is not barred, and I will not suggest a 5-2 ♥ game. 3♠ has a seductive appeal to it, but it is just not my cup of tea (even playing Acol, where tea is the preferred (non-alcoholic) beverage. pclayton
Justin: I can understand 3S or 3N but not 3H. Into a 2 suiter, 3H should suggest a better suit, and probably 6. Id like the 10 C for 3N but life isnt perfect. 3H might get us to a 5-3, but in your own words, 3H aims for a small target. Besides, over 3N pard can pattern out with 4H. With nothing in clubs, Id take a false preference with 3S but I have a reason to bid 3N.
han
3NT. I don't like that 6 of my points are in partner's suits, but nothing else seems better.

There are a million hands I can think of that would bid 3H with 5. It's the cheapest bid, we're stuck for space, and we might still have a 5-3 fit. 2) Though 3H would usually show a better fit, 3N would usually have less values in partners suits and more in the unbid suits, and 3S would usually have 2 spades. Nothing is perfect. 3) Why would pard pattern out with 5341? If he does that why can't you have x KJx xxx Qxxxxx? All bids carry their risks. MickyB
Again, from the BM bidding contest. Only one panel member shared my choice of 3♠. 3NT = 103♥ = 73♠ =
