jim420
This is a hand I just played as south. Really interesting hand imo. [hv=d=s&v=n&n=s85hqt975daj8765c&w=sq763hak864dckjt6&e=saj42hj32dk92ca84&s=skt9hdqt43cq97532]399|300|Scoring: IMPBidding:W N E S- - - P1♥ P 1♠ 2♣2♠ P 4♠ PP POpening Lead: ♣5Result: 4♠E-2+3.33 IMP to EW[/hv] After bidding 2♣, p passed, and I dun have the guts to bid any higher. I led the ♣5 against 4♠, which p ruffed immediately with ♠5. I was hoping in my mind, "Hearts! Hearts! Hearts!" And there comes the ♥9, I ruffed with ♠9. After 4 tricks of cross-ruffing, declarer was -1. He was apparently too shocked, and made one further mistake after taking down my ♣Q - led the ♥3, which I ruffed with ♠K. Down 2. However, we still lost, in IMPs. Take a look at the traveller, there're lots of crazy results... X's as well as XX's. http://online.bridgebase.com/myhands/hands...1322557-5786679 What makes this hand more interesting was that there was no viable contract for EW, but there's one for NS - 4♦ can be made, although that also gives EW IMPs. What do you think about this hand? How can you and ur usual p bid this hand? What would u and ur usual p do in ur favourite system, both as NS and EW, as declarer or defender? This hand is just complete anarchy...
whereagles
What do I think? I think there's a case for overcalling 2♦ on the North hand. Just that ;)
firmit
Interesting indeed! But many deals are! No double is possible at the 4-level in this situation - from neither side. 4♦ bid and made is unbelievable - east not bidding is just insane - or he has some 6th sense-table-feeling!
