1. No you shouldn't have bid. You could have doubled if you play support doubles. Other than that? No. You have told your story. If partner is interested in game or fighting for the partial, he'll bid something. Pass is clearly correct from your side.

2. 1 is the correct call with 4-4 in the majors. Of course, then 2, supporting your pd, is mandatory.

3. This is after the 1 response yes? A top heart. I see no reason to diverge from the obvious lead... (well, it would be the same after just about any bid)

1. I think that most players would advance 1 over your 1 opening. With 4-4 in the majors, 1 is the standard response. The only exception MIGHT be a case with truly ridiculous disparity between hearts and spades.

2. After a 1 advance, doubling to show 3 card support is quite normal

1. Double if you play support doubles. Pass otherwise -- you are happy to let them play in clubs.

2. It is normal to respond in a major if you have one, even if it is a poor suit. With 4-4 majors it is normal to respond 1. With 5-5 majors, it is normal to respond 1.

3. AK is a nearly automatic lead versus suit contracts.
