Poky
I think that after 1C-(3D) 3M should be played as GF, let say some shapely 11+ with goodish suit. So. this hand is borderline between: a) Dbl and rebid a NF 3S/4S, ;) 3S and: passing 3NT, probably passing 4H, rebidding 4S else. Hard to tell which action is the best. mishovnbg
Hi Mike! Pass - the MP decision. Depend of the level of play of my partner, but if he is good player then: - He didnt bid 3NT, so no stopper in DI - He didnt bid 4SP, so he didnt have 3 or Tx support SP - He didnt bid 4DI, so he didnt have singleton/void in DI with choice of game between 4HE/4SP/5CL Misho

Not that 4C is not probably the limit of the hand... it is, in fact, you are probably overboard in 4C. But because your forcing 3S promised a rebid over his 4C bid. So you are fixed by your own hasty 3S bid. I would rebid 4S, unhappily. Since I have to take another bid after my forcing 3S bid, I think the real question is what to do over 3D? If you have the kind of partner who will respond in a three card major instead of rebidding long diamonds over a negative double, the double will stand out, as he is almost surely going to bid 3H. Over the expected 3H you can bid a non-forcing 3S and if partner jumps to 4H you will just have to pass. However, I am going to be in the minority here, and suggest that the correct bid with this hand over 3D is to pass. I have enough diamond legnth to anticipate partner will be short enough to reopen. Not that pass will lead you to the best spot either. Partner might not be able to reopen, or may reopen with 3H bid instead of double. Over a reopen dbl, I would bid 4S, over a reopen 3H I would bid a non-forcing 3S (although pass has some merit). But this is why they preempt. :-) Ben
Trpltrbl
Preempter got us again, I agree 3 Sp was a slight overbid, but both my Sp suit and my H suit made me do it. I have been wrong before, last time was in 1979. I was 12 years old and had been playing bridge for 2 years hehehe. But will now tell y that my pd was void in SP, of course. And she had 2 D.After few more reponses I will give my pd's hand too. Hang tight 8) Mike ;D
