jmc
After I play IMP pairs online I would like to figure out an approximate equivalent MP percentage. I keep track of my stats and its nice to have a number in the percentage column. I found this website http://www.ycbc.co.uk/scoring.htm but they did not really explain the methadology and they dont easily let me figure for 12 boards. Any help anyone could give would be appreciated. jmc
mikestar
I checked out their web site and their figures for 24 boards are based on 4.25 IMPs= 1%. So for 12 board matches, this would eqate to 2.125 IMPs=1%. Since this is an approximation anyway, why not simplify it to 2 IMPs=1%? So if you finish say +14 IMPs you would equate that to 57% , +23 IMPs would be 61.5%, -4 IMPs would be 48%.
Gerben42
To convert to another number of boards, the % points go like the square root of the number of boards. From the figure for 24 boards just multiply all the IMP scores by sqrt (12 / 24) = 0.
