"5s..very tough I never get these right."

Well, neither do I, but that's why we are displaying our expertise in the Forums rather than the Bermuda Bowl B)

Peter

Well now that I thought about this hand I am changing my bid to 5H and hope pard has:

Axxxxx...AK...xx....Jxx

I do think partner has long spades, opening hcp and small D.

yes,i agree u, we did better than the player who act on the Bermuda Bowl usually.

the reason is we post through our pondering but they are not .under rule,at most 3min's they use on the table .

the first puzzle in this conundrum is 3 overcall.

did u agree 3 is semi-foring and it's underbid now?

what is ur range of 3?

:D :o ;) :D B) :P :P :)

The 3h bidder is an unpassed hand.....3H must be forcing one round if the next opp passes.

Partner has overcalled. Many play that 3H is NOT forcing. Incidentally, I disagree with the H bid and would have made a fsj or a S raise if the former was not available.

the 2nd forcal question is why west jump 5?

in MP,it should utterly be punished by opps, minus 300 is terrible if they no game.

does he have a typical hand (1=1=7=4) or not?

the 3rd detail is pass from 1 overcaller ,did u agree it's a forcing bid?especially on MP.

the 4th difficulty is the problem of slam, does it have zero possibility?

in deed?

:D :) :) :) :P

- 3H is non-forcing for me. As a general rule, after three bids a non-jump in a new suit by fourth hand is NF for me.

- I don't like 3H, but I see no call I like better. I don't play 4H as a support jump shift (4M by an unpassed hand never is). Even if I did play it that way, I don't think I would make it with this hand. Partner would expect 4-5 or 5-5 in the majors, not 3-7.

- I some somebody say that they fully expect to make 5S, wow. Their overcall style must differ a lot from mine. I think that East had a clear 1S bid.

- Having seen all the hands I pass and lead a club
