mike777
5s..very tough I never get these right. Hate to defend with a void. Pard bid 1s on an opening hand if I hold these spade cards but 5s still may be wrong but.....

flytoox
DBL. Any other bids put all eggs in one basket. Many good things may happen after my dbl. Pd may covert it to 5H/5S if he has some heart fit and long spade. Of if he has defensive cards pd can pass .

Well, neither do I, but that's why we are displaying our expertise in the Forums rather than the Bermuda Bowl :) Peter yes,i agree u, we did better than the player who act on the Bermuda Bowl usually.the reason is we post through our pondering but they are not .under rule,at most 3min's they use on the table . the first puzzle in this conundrum is 3♥ overcall.did u agree 3♥ is semi-foring and it's underbid now?what is ur range of 3♥? :D :o ;) :D B) :P :P :) regards 000002
mike777
The 3h bidder is an unpassed hand.....3H must be forcing one round if the next opp passes.
the hog
The 3h bidder is an unpassed hand.....3H must be forcing one round if the next opp passes. Partner has overcalled. Many play that 3H is NOT forcing. Incidentally, I disagree with the H bid and would have made a fsj or a S raise if the former was not available. mike777
wow ok...but it seems to play 3h as nonforcing over a weak 3d bid by rho is tough bridge.....I bet many is defined as less than 5000 pairs out of millions? I would call that very few?

hotShot
5♥If I have a choice between to suits, i prefer to have the weaker suit as trump, and the stronger suit as source of tricks. So i prefer to play ♥ over ♠.

pclayton
The opps own the diamonds. All I need is the ♠A and an outside card (and no handling nightmares). Pard made an overcall at adverse vulnerability. Is this too much to ask? So 5♠ for me. By the way, 3♥ understates this hand. Much prefer a fit jump. 000002
the 2nd forcal question is why west jump 5♦?in MP,it should utterly be punished by opps, minus 300 is terrible if they no game.does he have a typical hand (1=1=7=4) or not? the 3rd detail is pass from 1♠ overcaller ,did u agree it's a forcing bid?especially on MP. the 4th difficulty is the problem of slam, does it have zero possibility?in deed? :D :) :) :) :P regards 000002

han
- 3H is non-forcing for me. As a general rule, after three bids a non-jump in a new suit by fourth hand is NF for me. - I don't like 3H, but I see no call I like better. I don't play 4H as a support jump shift (4M by an unpassed hand never is). Even if I did play it that way, I don't think I would make it with this hand. Partner would expect 4-5 or 5-5 in the majors, not 3-7. - I some somebody say that they fully expect to make 5S, wow. Their overcall style must differ a lot from mine. I think that East had a clear 1S bid. - Having seen all the hands I pass and lead a club
